Join ISSC
Welcome to ISSC. We're excited to have you join our community of space enthusiasts and explorers. Together, we'll reach for the stars, share knowledge, and inspire innovation.
Before you join, please read and agree to each statement below
1. I understand that ISSC is a grassroots, hobbyist-driven initiative, not a government or commercial space agency.
We're a team of students and enthusiasts tinkering for fun and learning, not paid professionals. You won't get formal accreditation or official backing, just a seat at our community table.
2. I acknowledge that only Swedish members are legally registered under Astronomisk Ungdom.
If you live outside Sweden, you're joining informally, but you still get full access to Discord, events, and projects. You won't appear in Swedish legal documents, but you're an equal collaborator in practice.
3. I accept that ISSC does not offer academic credits, professional certifications, or guaranteed publication.
When you publish or share work here, it's because you chose to, and while we'll cheer you on, it doesn't replace a university degree or peer-reviewed journal.
4. I take full responsibility for my own experiments and compliance with local laws.
Building rockets, decoding satellites, or flying balloons? You're on your own for permits, safety gear, and legal paperwork. ISSC provides guidance, but you must follow your country's rules.
5. I understand that not every member can work on every project.
Our board forms project teams based on skills, timing, and resources. Your ideas are welcome, but we can't guarantee a spot in every experiment or build.
6. I retain ownership of anything I create or share, unless I explicitly agree to transfer rights.
Your photos, code, designs, and write-ups stay yours. If you contribute to an ISSC project, we'll ask first and always credit you.
7. I'll respect our community's code of conduct: no harassment, hate speech, or misinformation.
Science thrives on trust and respect. Break the rules, and I understand I may be muted or removed, no hard feelings, just good science vibes.
8. I'm aware of time-zone differences and may need to catch up on recordings.
Live events happen Swedish time; international members should check schedules or watch summaries afterward.
9. I know that shipping parts internationally can be costly and subject to customs.
If I join any hardware project, I'm responsible for shipping fees, import duties, and delivery times to Sweden or other participants.
10. I understand that English is our main working language, but occasional Swedish notices may appear.
I'll use translation tools or ask questions if I'm unsure, so I don't miss important updates.
If you are under 15, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to join and participate. For certain activities, written consent may be required.
